Aidan

-single [homosexual]
Aidan is, in a sense, a product of his childhood. He was spoiled and received everything he asked for- except one thing. To go outside the castle. He was kept inside the walls until his sixteenth birthday, and told repeatedly that it was for ‘his own safety’; and Aidan grew increasingly frustrated and angry. He felt as if he were a prisoner in his own home, and he internalized all this rage which festered inside of him. Even after he was given his freedom, it never really went away- and while Aidan has quite a well mannered nature, occasionally this fury becomes evident, often much to the surprise of those around him. He’s polite, a result of hours and hours of having morals and manners drilled into him, endless lessons in etiquette- and is quite the gentleman. Aidan is incredibly sensitive to being told what to do- after living sixteen years of his life under abused authority, he finds it very hard to comply under command. It’s rare that he’ll do what he’s told, unless he believes it to be for the better. As he was confined, he developed an insatiable hunger for knowledge, and kept himself sane by reading every book in the castle’s library cover to cover. He is fascinated by everything, curious and desperate to know ‘everything’; he can usually still be found poring over old books. Aidan can be impulsive, making decisions on a whim; he feels that he’s making up for so much lost time, in a way- determined to live his life in the fast lane to compensate for the sixteen years he lost. Despite this, Aidan is surprisingly thoughtful when it comes to people around him. He’s sweet and will show his affections in unusual ways. He craves being loved, and some might describe him as needy, but he has gone so long without love that he had forgotten what it felt like. He has trouble showing his feelings, as he was taught that it was a bad thing to express how he felt, and has never really forgotten that lie. He buries his opinions and emotions, which can lead to disastrous outburst, but for the most part Aidan is gentle and kind, someone who just happened to have a rough start in life.
